Polar War - Kaelac's Bane

In one of the last engagements against the Aeldari on Vigilus, a strike force of their forces emerged from the Webway. These forces comprised hundreds of guardians, aspect warriors, wraith constructs and a fiery Avatar of Khaine. Behind them came a flotilla of grav tanks and jetbikes.

The battle between the Aeldari and the Rift Wardens took place under harsh winter weather conditions. The area around the webway gate was covered in over 3 feet of snow and the temperature dropped below -25 degrees, which gave the alien invaders the advantage. The assault came as a surprise and was devastating enough that it forced the space marines to retreat turning the area over to the Aeldari.

Retreat from Djodrolev Hivestar - Mortwald

Points: 2000.

Deployment and Mission: Sweeping Engagement / Rapid Escalation.

Primary Objective: Burden of Trust.

Detachment: Anvil Strike Force.

Opponents Detachment: Tallyband Summoners.

Following a string of defeats against the Death Guard in Djodrolev Hivestar district of Mortwald. Typhus and his loyal plague marines pursued them to the borders of the hive. Captain Lorgraine put up a valiant fight to allow his battle brothers to escape, but many Rift Wardens were slain in the retreat.

Under The Shadow of Chaos - Vigilus Wastelands

Points: 2000.

Deployment and Mission: Hammer and Anvil / Swift Action.

Primary Objective: The Ritual.

Detachment: Anvil Siege Force.

Opponents Detachment: Shadow Legion.

Belakor's daemonic host surged out of the deep deserts - an undulating legion of otherworldly horrors laying waste to everything they encountered. A small force of Rift Wardens concentrated in the vicinity were dispatched to halt their advance towards the hive cities. The space marines, under captain Lorgraine, went on the offensive but his forces were smashed in the first battle. The Shadow Legion gained ground pushing through the space marine defence line.

The last points of Rift Warden controlled desert were taken from them over the next three days. Having suffered considerable losses, Lorgraine ordered a retreat back to Hyperia Hivesprawl. Recent defeats against the Orks and other Chaos foes, had negatively impacted the chapter's morale. 

Operation Annihilation: The Ending - Vigilus Wastelands

Points: 2000.

Deployment and Mission: Hammer and Anvil / Swift Action.

Primary Objective: Terraform.

Detachment: Anvil Siege Force.

Opponents Detachment: War Horde.

After months of brutal fighting, the greenskins launched a counter-offensive against the Imperial forces assaulting the scrap cities and looking to regain territories seized during the fighting. The initial attack was so great that it forced the Astra Militarum to withdraw almost entirely. Then, they turned their attention to the astartes chapters remaining. A fierce battle for the outer scrap cities lasted almost a month, finally ending with am Ok victory.

Finally, the space marine chapters suffered severe casualties and Imperial command ordered an immediate withdrawal. Operation Annhilation had achieved some successes but had proved far too costly in manpower and equipment. For the time being, command would leave the scrap cities to the geenskins and seek to stymy their assaults elsewhere.

Wrath of Vashtorr - Ravitane

Points: 2000.

Deployment and Mission: Dawn of War / Inspired Leadership.

Primary Objective: Unexploded Ordnance.

Detachment: Anvil Siege Force

Opponents Detachment: Renegade Raiders.

The offensive of Vashtorr's followers began mere hours after the initial battle ended. Chaos bikers broke through the Rift Warden defence and took control of vital strategic locations. However, space marine forces under Captain Lorgraine made a flank counterattack and barely managed to force the enemy back.

Shortly thereafter, the Cogs of Vashtorr forced the loyalists back along a broad front, creating a bridgehead into their lines. The main forces, led by Vashtor himself and the mysterious individual known as Cypher, broke through the defences inflicting multiple casualties, and pushing the Rift Wardens further back away from the Bringer of Tears.

Lorgraine decided to retake the lost territory, by concentrating on a specific point in the enemy lines. The plan was to assault the lines with almost everything the captain had at his disposal. The next day, Lorgrain launched his counteroffensive. The engagement was brief and looked to be turning the tide of battle in the loyalist's favour until multiple warp gates burst open releasing the daemon Belakor and a horde of lesser daemons, who threw their attacks into the legions of Vashtorr. Lorgraine gave up the assault and left the enemy forces to fight among themselves.

Tipping Point - Mandragora

Points: 2000.

Deployment and Mission: Tipping Point / Prepared Positions.

Primary Objective: The Ritual.

Detachment: Anvil Siege Force

Opponents Detachment: Black Spear Task Force.

Fighting continued around the Paradox Flats as the Rift Wardens and the Deathwatch failed to bring the other to heel. The Deathwatch advancing behind the collapsing Rift Wardens lines, began their attack as they approached the fortified positions around the space marine headquarters. The first clashes took place along the Paradon River, starting a significant conclusive battle. After repeated attacks, the Deathwatch managed to achieve some limited success. After two weeks of fighting, the situation calmed, as the Deathwatch needed to replenish their forces. In order to pressure Arthurus into surrender, intensive Deathwatch attacks restarted just days later.

A week later, the situation became critical as forward units of the Deathwatch crossed the river. The next day, a counterattack led by Captain Gwaine, pushed the Deathwatch back. Arthurus actively reinforced his battle brothers with veteran squads and terminators, sending in the chapter's best. Gwaine became the commander of the Paradon front. After suffering heavy casualties in numerous battles, the Deathwatch were exhausted and reluctantly fell back, giving the Rift Wardens a moments breathing room.
