Defend The Fort - Feast of Blades

Deployment and Mission: Crucible Of Battle / Sweep And Clear.

Primary Objective: Priority Targets.

Detachment: Gladius Task Force.

Opponents Detachment: Gladius Task Force.

The Imperial Fists were concerned that their brothers in the Rift Wardens were not schooled in the ways of defending a siege. The chapter were often far too aggressive and less well trained. With this in mind, the second challenge for the Rift Wardens would be to hold and defend a small fortification from an Imperial Fists attack. The Imperial Fists simulated a artillery strike upon the defence works, then advanced with bolter fire followed by swift assaults to unseat the Rift Wardens. The initial report was confirmed as the Rift Wardens were swiftly overtaken and ousted from their position.

Capture The Fort - Feast of Blades

Mission: Surge Of Faith.

Secondary Objectives: Grind Them Down, Shock Tactics, and Raise The Banners High.

Opponent's Secondary Objectives: Behind Enemy Lines, Grind Them Down, and Raise The Banners High.

In this version of the Feast of Blades, the Imperial Fists and it's successor chapters come together to engage in a series of war games to test their skill against one another. 

The first scenario presented to the Rift Wardens was a planetary assault against a fortress occupied by the Imperial Fists. The Rift Warden thunderhawks landed at night on the western side of the peninsula on which the fortress was located. They deployed approximately a mile north of their intended landing zone. In the darkness the assault formations became separated but gradually made their way inland, under increasing opposition from the Imperial Fist defenders. Upon reaching the fortress, the Rift Wardens's plans were discarded, and the two two chapters were thrown into battle piecemeal and receiving mixed orders. Some Rift Wardens advanced to their designated objectives, while others were diverted to other areas and began setting up defensive ridge lines. 

As the sun rose above the horizon, the engagement was brought to end. The Rift Wardens had failed to breach the fortification let along take control. 

Brother vs Brother - Iago

Points: 2000.

Mission: No Man's Land.

Secondary Objectives: Engage On All Fronts, Oaths of Moment and Secure No Man's Land.

Opponent's Secondary Objectives: Bring It Down, Engage On All Fronts, and Secure No Man's Land.

For several weeks the Rift Wardens have been fighting alongside their brothers, the Crimson Fists, against the greenskin menace occupying the Iago system. A hard fought engagement that finally saw the Emperor's finest seizure these vital worlds back from the enemy although at great cost. Unfortunately events took a downturn at the end of the crusade when the two chapters came to blows over the treatment of the surviving Imperial citizens.

The situation took a turn when the last surviving orks took refuge in an overpopulated settlement. Rather than use scouts and eliminators to remove the last remnants of the ork threat, the Rift Wardens charged in. They killed orks and Imperial citizens alike in their crusade to eradicate the greenskins. In retaliation for the slaughter, Pedro Kantor led his battle brothers against the Rift Wardens.

As the Rift Wardens scoured the area of their last battle for signs of any remaining orks, the Crimson Fists dropped an ambush upon them. Drop pods fell from the skies and stormtalons roared in across the wastelands. The Rift Wardens weathered a storm of bolter fire that halted their search. They held their ground and returned fire, enraged that their fellow battle brothers would turn on them.

The element of surprise worked in the Crimson Fist's favour ultimately and they were able to deal a fatal blow the Rift Wardens present. Word had reached the Rift Wardens command though and chapter master Arthurus vowed revenge upon Kantor!
