The battle of Begger's Ridge took place when a company of Rift Wardens attacked a scouting force of White Scars in the early days of the war for Pelucidon. Librarian Crispus ordered a reconnaissance in force, which greatly outnumbered the White Scars, holding Begger's Ridge. Despite a large number of casualties inflicted, the Rift Wardens made a slight withdrawal to hold ground until reinforcements could arrive but the White Scars pursued and overwhelmed the Rift Wardens.
