Battle of Stump Subsprawl - Dontoria Hivesprawl

The battle of Stump Subsprawl was a major battle between Imperial forces and a small maniple of Chaos Knights. The Rift Wardens and other space marine chapters attempted to claim control of the area as staging ground from which to launch attacks against the Death Guard and their allies in Dontoria. In response to their presence, the Death Guard sent their Knightly allies to slaughter the Imperial marines. The Knights with a small force of Nurgle daemons in tow managed to rout the space marines and force them out of the area. With no reinforcements available to support them, the Rift Wardens reluctantly fell back as well. With few resources available to them in Dontoria, the Rift Wardens redeployed elsewhere until new battle plans could be drawn up.

Clashes In The Streets - Dharrovar

Deployment and Mission: Hammer and Anvil / Rapid Escalation.

Primary Objective: Scorched Earth.

Detachment: Anvil Siege Force.

Opponents Detachment: Combined Regiment.

At this time, a Rift Wardens company sized force was stationed in the Gandos Distrixt. The commander of the force was Captain Galadhus. The force consisted of intercessors and heavy intercessors, although many were scattered around the district in small squads. The enemy Militarum forces were a mix of war weary guardsmen and a number of battle tanks. With these forces, the enemy commander managed to repel the space marine intercessor squads. As soon as the counter-attacks began, Galadhus ordered the bulk of his forces to regroup and launch a full assault. The clashes lasted for two days. At this time, thunderhawks arrived and unloaded more intercessors into the rear of the enemy lines. Surrounded by the Emperor's finest, the enemy forces were decimated. The first Imperial victory in Gothos raised morale and the war was renewed.

The Samakar Landings - Pelucidon

Opponents Detachment: Stormlance Task Force.

The Rift Warden orbital landings at Samakar was a military operation overseen by Chief Librarian Uther, which involved an orbital insertion to capture the city of Samakar and the surrounding area. The operation was a success, despite a desperate battle with the White Scars under Khan's leadership, the Rift Wardens were able to capture key locations and began deploying the rest of the chapter's forces from the orbiting warships. During the battle, the allied knightly house of Avalon lost a revered member of the household and they unleashed terrible violence in return upon the White Scars.

Craftworld Supremacy - Omegon Theta

Points: 2000.

Deployment and Mission: Hammer and Anvil / Smoke and Mirrors.

Primary Objective: Burden of Trust.

Detachment: Firestorm Assault Force.

Opponents Detachment: Battle Host.

The Rift Warden attack began towards the Aeldari positions several miles from the dig site. In the following days, the whole chapter mobilised to combat the alien menace. The space marines overran the first lines of defence and slaughtered thousands the alien foe. Soon however, vast numbers of reinforcements appeared from a pair of concealed webway gates and the chapter was reluctantly forced to withdraw. The Aeldari reinforcements soon outnumbered the Rift Wardens and out the future of the war effort on the edge of a knifepoint.

Battle of Cargo Dept 1145 - Vigilus Wastelands

Points: 2000.

Deployment and Mission: Dawn of War / Fog of War.

Primary Objective: Take and Hold.

Detachment: Firestorm Assault Force.

Opponents Detachment: War Horde.

In the early hours, Ork forces attacked the wasteland cargo depot from three sides. At the same time, squig riders headed eastwards to cut off any reinforcements from aiding the defenders. The defenders put up a strong resistance but only the sudden arrival of a Rift Warden force gave them any hope. With their presence ensuring that the battle ensued for longer than the greenskin warboss expected, rokkitboy reinforcements were called in.

Heavy fighting lasted throughout the day and into the night with many casualties on both sides. The ork squig riders managed to halt the Rift Wardens and allowed the greenskins to push deeper into the depot. The orks went building to building, killing and looting.

On the morning of the third day, the main Ork assault began, with more and more reinforcements running in from the wastelands, After an further hour of heavy fighting, the depot was captured and with it vast amounts of lootable ammunition and equipment.
