The Battle of Mekon Delta took place just days after the Lugganth forces fell back from the main Craftworld dig site. It was the a major battle in the Aeldari attempt to drive the Imperial forces from the planet, and a three week long engagement in the Mekon Delta region, which ultimately forced the Rift Wardens to abandon the area and resulted in the alien forces massacring thousands of Mechanicus workers, who were still attempting to uncover the buried ship.
