The battle of the Pelladon Wastes took place over four days, following the recent decisive victories over the Rift Wardens during this war. Fighting took place over a wide area which extended from the Begger's Ridge across several miles to a vast inland sea.
After the capture of vital territory by the White Scars chapter, their occupation of the region began. However, the captured territory was not sufficient to provide a strong enough base of operations for their conflict with the Rift Wardens. The White Scars successfully pushed outwards, taking new territory, following hit and run attacks against the Rift Wardens. After four days of heavy fighting, the Rift Wardens were in a desperate position and unless they could secure a victory, their presence on Pelucidon was at risk.
